What is happening
The Digitalanalog Festival turns 25 in 2026. Over two evenings, Friday 9 October and Saturday 10 October, Muffatwerk (Zellstraße 4) hosts concerts, video art, installations and talks. It starts at 8:30 pm each night and, according to muenchen.de, runs until 1 am. Entry is free.
What sets the format apart is that the video art is not a backdrop. It is made for the individual concerts, so that image and sound form one piece. The line-up includes Bigband Dachau, King Pigeon, MAAKOSA, New Rivals and The Peach Cans, among others.
Who it is for
To be frank: not for young children. A festival that begins at half past eight in the evening and runs past midnight is not a family outing. For teenagers from about 14 and for adults, though, it is one of the few chances in the year to hear many Munich bands from very different directions in one evening without paying for a ticket.
What you can learn there
If you are learning an instrument yourself, set yourself one simple task: with each band, listen only to the drums for one minute. Where is the pulse, who is holding it, and what happens in the room when it drops out for a moment? It costs nothing and trains exactly the thing that is hardest to explain in a lesson.
